Carney kept injecting "Right?" as in

"The memo pertained to the whole Mideast picture. Right?"

or

"The CIA provided the talking points. Right?"

Now I'm no speech analyst, but these interjections seem to me to be ways to get the listener to agree with him on a specific issue believing that the listener will be more prone to agree on other issues.

Right?
