A friend recently told me that he thanks God for the fact that most of his time in the military was under Reagan because they weren’t sent to every god forsaken hellhole in the world at every whim and only went on alert a handful of times. Reagan used the military surgically and sparingly in conjunction with smart honest diplomacy.
Yet is was economic warfare with a strong vigilant defense that brought the Soviets to their knees.
However, the isolationist Borschst Brigade here cant even abide economic sanctions.
