Product Engineer
Wilson Electronics - Dallas, TX
PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Product Engineer/Technician will be part of the new product engineering team. This position will be responsible for new
product evaluation and characterization. Will take new designs and verify design integrity/repeatability and facilitate the
transition of protoypes into high-volume production.
MAJOR FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Experience with either test or design of RF product
Ability to learn in-house software (current software - C, PicC)
Compile data reports/Analytics from test data
Perform required tests and compile data in usable format to support design verification process.
Debug RF circuit designs, working with the designer to implement required solutions.
Develop and implement test procedures to standardize RF test functions
Must be able and willing to fabricate components, assemble systems, prepare experimental samples and fixtures, etc.
and operate basic hand tools, shop tools and lab equipment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs at any given time. Occasional bending, crouching, kneeling, and/or sitting in tight spaces will be
necessary.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, COMPUTER EXPERIENCE AND SPECIFIC JOB RELATED SKILLS
Education
Minimum of A.A.S. Degree in Engineering Technology or related field. Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred
Computer Requirements
Some capability with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
Experience Required
5+ years of hands-on experience working in a laboratory environment as an RF or RF test
engineer
Strong RF and System Level understanding. Ability to lead technical discussions.
Able to work independently and resolve system level issues while keeping team members and
management well informed of progress.
Hands-on experience and fluency operating most RF/electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes,
digital multimeters, Network Analyzers, spectrum analyzer, signal generators, logic analyzer etc.).
Knowledge of communication devices and components, wireless RF devices, and RF theory.
Hands-on experience troubleshooting problems that occur with electronic RF systems at the
component level.
The ability to write test plans, procedures, and report documents, and to carry out testing both
alone and as part of a team.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively within a multi-disciplinary team structure
Understand how to program using GPIB
Experience Preferred
Experience with cellular RF products a plus
Microcontroller programming experience
PCB layout/schematic capture
