Now Rush is going to get called a racist for referring to Don Lemon as “Mr. Black Hole.”
Rush’s name was bought up a few days ago on ESPN.
You know why a poll tax is wrong, but 90% of our taxes are wrong.
Why do 3/4 of the people in this country think it is cool for Obama to jack 1 lb of tobbaco from $14 to $75 all in the name of paying for SCHIP?
What the hell do smokers have to do with SCHIP?
People right here on this board applauded that unfair taxation.
Divide and conquer.
Jesse is constantly on the prowl.
Indeed he is.
bttt
My point is that if we can be taxed for merely living, then we can be taxed for everything we do while we are alive.
Under those circumstances, a Poll tax doesn’t seem so irrational.
I’m not advocating for them, I’m just comparing.
Question, if a baby is born alive and lives for only one day, what premium must the parents pay for the baby?
I dislike the fellow and think he has perverted MLK’s message, but the guy is a player.
Obama is a player.
A professional 3 card monte hustler.
Is he looking for Obama to snip his nuts off? I know at one time he said he wanted to do that. Does the NBA think that’s racist, or maybe sexist?
My view: The left are absolutely drunk with their power. The power of a "racist" smear. At this point Sterling appears to be squashed, though this is not final. They just have not let this go, even with the predictable gloating. They are charging around looking for heads- conservative heads no doubt. Jmho.
“We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our selection between economy and liberty or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts as that we must be taxed in our meat in our drink, in our necessities and comforts, in our labors and in our amusements, for our callings and our creeds...our people.. must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses; and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live.. We have not time to think, no means of calling the mis-managers to account, but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow suffers. Our landholders, too...retaining indeed the title and stewardship of estates called theirs, but held really in trust for the treasury, must...be contented with penury, obscurity and exile.. private fortunes are destroyed by public as well as by private extravagance.
This is the tendency of all human governments. A departure from principle becomes a precedent for a second; that second for a third; and so on, till the bulk of society is reduced to mere automatons of misery, to have no sensibilities left but for sinning and suffering... And the fore horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in it’s train wretchedness and oppression.”
Thomas Jefferson on Public Debt and Taxation
Yeah his son is a crook too.
Rather the liberals are getting nervous, really. They know they are going to have their rear ends handed to them in November. The Senate is going GOP conservative. So they are trying to lets just say “trash the place” before the changeover.
Could be both.
Great quote.
If Teddy (”wine ‘em, dine ‘em, dink ‘em and dunk ‘em) Kennedy were still with us, he would demand an apology for quotes TJ, like he did when arguing Second Amendment issues in he Senate years ago.
That’s post of the thread.
A Democrat from New Jersey used nasty racist language, but it is not a problem with anyone.

People do not even seem to understand how heavily we are taxed.
My own brother, a small businessman did not know what the TEA party stood for.
Taxed enough already!
Add up your taxes.
income tax
sales tax
property tax
school tax
state tax
local tax
vehicle registration
gas tax
tourist tax
tobacco tax
liquor tax
etc etc etc
