When I was still in the news business I remember arguing regularly about opinion masquerading as news. this Ed was your typical lib and was highly offended that someone would dare accuse/think that were possible. He swore he’d quit before he ever allowed such a thing in his newsroom and all the typical chest thumping you’d expect.
And then one day we got a memo from AP stating directly that opinion was acceptable in news coverage. An actual faxed memo.
And he got real quiet as I laughed in his face the rest of the day...but of course didn’t quit.

Big deal. Then these guys will go on the major networks and never say a word against Sharpton. They have a small audience of NYers in that room who have a long history with Sharpton. It’s like blacks who criticize themselves in private and then refuse to do so with a white audience.
