And to seal the deal, the NBA made it clear today that the action was solely due to the recording, and had nothing to do with any previous rumors or transgressions…..so you may just be right.

Would love your thoughts on this, fellow sports guy. I'm seeing a private conversation, illegally recorded, and extreme punishment without apparent due process. Surely there are conduct clauses inserted in every franchise agreement but this just defies the imagination. I don't condone what he said, of course, but I wonder where the NBA will stand when the inevitable lawsuit is filed.

Flagg I am thinking exactly like you are…..obviously the NBA thinks that their conduct language for owners and the auspices of the commish’ office gives them the latitude to do this - but remember, Sterling is a personal injury trial lawyer….he’s a litigious bastard by definition. This is going to get interesting.
