Mario’s Double Secret Magic Amnesty Formula

What’s the secret, Mario? For a while now, Florida Republican Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart has been boasting he’s arrived at some sort of Magic Secret Formula that will win the support of enough Republicans to get an immigration amnesty bill through the House. He tends to surface in the press every time the spirits of amnesty supporters need a boost. Here he is back in February (“We have legislative language”). Here he is last week:

Obama won’t even follow laws that he championed- and in some cases he’s directly violating the plain language of Obamacare. Yet they want us to believe they’ve discovered the “magic solution”...

And even if somehow you force him to follow a law he doesn’t like, you have Holder running around telling governors and mayors that they don’t have to enforce laws they “morally” oppose; you have massive federal agencies with “anonymous, low-level” bureaucrats who will simply refuse to enforce laws and never get caught, and on and on...

This is a lose/lose proposition for Repubs. Winning the Senate is no slam-dunk (things can change- case in point: remember how Chris Christie was supposedly the new, unbeatable RINO savior just a year ago? How’s that one working out?). Focus on winning issues and stop playing with fire.
