talk about revealing!

Surely one would think that if we agreed on anything, it would be that in the post 9/11 world al-Qaeda and its terrorist affiliates are our nations enemies. But apparently not. Whether out of indifference or malice, the United States sided with al-Qaeda in Libya. Its as if the ATF set up a branch in Benghazi and started funneling guns to the enemy, much as they did with drug cartels along the Mexican border.
Another important nugget was buried in the Citizens Commission on Benghazi report, and covered up by members of the media desperate for Hillary Clinton to run for the presidency, unscathed by trivial matters like Benghazi. The entire Libyan war could have been avoided. Thats right. Muammar Gaddafi had offered to abdicate peacefully and turn over power, thus avoiding bloodshed and war.
Thanks - Fast and Furious, Benghazi style. Many on FR predicted after Benghazi happened that it was covering up guns to terrorists.
I’m not a Foreign Policy authority or strategerist by any stretch (and don’t play one on TV), and certainly don’t recall all that was said or done over the past several years, so if I’m off base or not remembering correctly, anyone should feel free to correct me.
What I do seem to recall is that GWB got Gaddafi to give up his nukes; and, that Mubarak in Egypt abided by the peace accord with Israel. While both leaders were somewhat despots, they at least had somewhat “friendly” relations with the West, there weren’t Al-Queda in those countries, and their countries, while not neccessarily great places to live, weren’t in the turmoil they’re in now. I had friends that traveled to or lived in Egypt some years ago. Now both countries are part of the “Arab Spring” and our Dear Leader’s continually evolving mess in the ME.
Dear Leader campaigned on making people and countries around the world to like the US more. Someone on TV mentioned the other night that they’ve asked people to name 1 country that likes the US better now than they did in 2008 - - crickets (as expected).
