Frankly, I don’t recognize this country anymore.
A friend told me what communism looked like in eastern europe. They said it wasn’t visible like tanks in the streets, or men in trench coats, or marching thugs.
What communism came down to was that the government was involved in everything you did. Either via a law, or a tax or a regulation, or an ordinance - and that they COULD get involved (if they wished) in anything you did.
Hmmm seems familiar.
It’s legal overreach - and again, everything they did under communism (and nazism) was fully legal.
You don’t recognize the country? Neither do I. And that’s why I’ve disconnected from every family member who refuses to see what’s happening. They are the enemy.
I have a neighbor who left Russia many years ago and he keeps asking me what is happening to America. “I should have stayed in Russia because America is turning into the same thing he fled.” Except here we still own firearms and when the tripwire is triggered and the flares go up, all hell will break out.
