Any comments I make about the 2016 candidates do not include Sarah Palin as I seriously doubt she is going to run.
All this talk of amnesty is a moot point if we are going to rail agains’t the GOP candidates about it.
The truth of the matter is that there is an agreement at the highest levels of the US and Mexican governments to keep the border porous. We are the Mexican’s escape valve so that they never have to reform their corrupt government and provide jobs for all of their people. In return big AGra and big business get a steady supply of cheap labor. This agreement has been in effect for my entire lifetime and yours as well.
The border will never be made secure. Not by any President we elect. There is no one you can name who will do it. No one. Not one possible GOP presidential contender is even promising it.
Even with a porous border we could stop the flow of illegals by taking away the magnets: Jobs, living facilities, healthcare, welfare, free education, drivers licenses. They would simply stop coming. But that is also never going to happen. If it were going to happen it already would have. No GOP president or legislature will ever be willing or able to achieve this.
We could round up a significant number of illegals in an operation wetback type scenario and it would scare most of the rest of them to flee the country. We could do it but we won’t. Not one GOP presidential candidate is suggesting that.
So where does that leave us? Amnesty. Let them all stay and lets move on to other topics. Legalize them now and border security later. That is what is going to happen and I am just furious about it but its still going to happen.
Palin... Possibly. She definitely has the guts, if not the inclination.
