LOL! Indeed, chickens are one of the most fascinating animals on the planet. My Dad had a pet hen who really sucked up to him. She’d hop on the fence and talk to him and gently pull at his pant cuff if he ignored her. She knew what she was doing because she remained alive after all the others in her group quite laying and went to stew pot heaven. It was a sad day when she succumbed from old age.
LOL that also reminds me of my father’s favorite Rooster. He was hugh and was a nice butterball. The Rooster could do no wrong in my father’s eyes. Until one Saturday afternoon, my father was cornered and his favorite Rooster came jumping and attaching him. My father was furious that my father came toward the house calling for my mother to get the hatchet LOL. I will say Daddy’s favorite sure tasted good with some potatoes, carrots, cabbage and some jalapeno peppers with a side dish of Mexican Rice LOL.
