Bulgarian Foreign Minister Kristian Vigenin has pledged that Bulgaria will do everything within its power to implement the South Stream project.
Bulgaria and some other EU member states should not be the hostages of Ukraines instability, Vigenin said in an exclusive interview with ITAR-TASS.
Therefore, the interests of European citizens, including Bulgarians, should come first. We will do everything within our power to have the South Stream project implemented, Vigenin stressed.
There is a LOT more going on behind the scenes than just a Ukrainian Civil War.
This is a direct endorsement by Bulgaria of the South Stream Pipeline Project which bypasses Ukraine and Poland, over the Nabucco pipeline to the Turkish border, that would bring Iranian/Syrian, and Saudi gas to Europe.
Energy Geopolitics at play here, folks.
And the Saudi's REALLY want that pipeline through Syria.
And the Saudi's REALLY want that pipeline through Syria.
Only enough to start WWIII over, (if THEY don't have to fight).
And the fact Bulgaria’s historically pro-Russian population wants to remain on good terms with Moscow is affectng the calculation of politicians in Sofia.
I was wondering why Obama suddenly was so hell-bent on attacking Syria, until I began to figure out that Gas Politics was at play, behind the scenes.
Putin drawing a “Red Line” in front of Syria stopped Obama (and the Saudi’s) in his tracks, and that has led us to a US-destabilized Ukraine.
Russian Intelligence isn’t stupid, and as ex-KGB, I don’t think Putin ignores intelligence estimates. They had to know all of this was coming, long before it happened.
Putin’s moves in Crimea and Southeast Ukraine show us that.
Who could you hire to build a pipeline in Syria?
And if you could build it, how long would it last?
Wittiness, North Stream (nearly complete), and South Stream going forward. Both planned around the Ukraine choke point.
Yes Russia (not just Putin), has learned from the past and is planning the future.
If ya remove Assad, almost any crony capitalist construction outfit would build it, for some of that Saudi money that currently goes to US politicians.
Assad is not going anywhere. There will be civil war for years, thanks to 0bama.
There will be unnecessary civil war for years, and the unnecessary death and suffering of thousands of Christians, thanks to 0bama.
