I think it’s that fracking drops the price of oil and NatGas enough that it becomes easier to produce electricity for all those folks heating their huts, so they don’t need to burn low-energy-density materials that produce huge amounts of combustion byproducts.
I’m sympathetic to that argument, of course.
But seems it would be a bit hard to quantify...
