Sounds like a case could be made for more concealed carry permits to be issued.

I'm a member of a large Southern Baptist church located in the near-downtown area of a major American city. I have been at the church for one reason or another on Saturday mornings when the Jewish people in the area are walking to synagogue. Our church sets out water coolers in front of our very large worship center because the Jewish people can cut across our property right in front of the worship center and knock nearly a block off their journey.

The people I have observed are not people who would carry guns. Many of the men are old and tired, walking with the assistance of grandsons or younger sons.

I've wondered why we can't hire an off-duty city policeman or deputy sheriff to watch over the people who are trying to do nothing except going to worship. I'm going to make this a formal question to our church staff.

I don't think that guns are the answer. The coming together of American people to look out for one another is one of the best solution of all, I think. It's a shame we haven't gotten the message yet.
