How did the BLM determine that Bundy owes them $1 million? It certainly looks like they are coming up with exorbitant demands to make it impossible to continue ranching.

The entire Mexican Cession cost the US $15 million in 1848 (perhaps $300 million in current dollars). The land in question is a tiny fraction of 1/300th of the Mexican Cession.
