Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid on Friday stood by his statement regarding embattled Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy, saying on KSNV’s What’s Your Point?, “If anyone thinks by any figment of their imagination that what happened up there last week was just people rallying to somebody that was oppressed, 600 people came in armed. They had practiced. They had maneuvered.”
Reid continued, “They knew what they were doing. They set up snipers in strategic locations with sniper rifles. They had assault weapons. They had automatic weapons. And they boasted about the fact that they put women and children, in fact one retired sheriff from Arizona posted he put women and children, so that they would get hit first.”

I've always liked Sheriff Mack, but I when I watched him say that on TV I thought it was a pretty despicable thing to do to us. It allowed people like the writer of this article to depict the TEA Party patriots as the sort of people who would push women and children to the front lines as human shields (as "Palestinians" do).
Mack has run for office a few times, he is not a political amateur, so he should know better. I have no idea why he would say such a ruinous and false thing at the expense of our Patriots. I never thought of him as GOPe, but maybe I was wrong about him, I had him pegged as a "good guy."

I wasn't really familiar with him, but I'd pegged him the same.
Maybe he was just tired & irate (no excuse), or maybe he's managed to fool more than just a couple of us.
IMO he's made himself into someone that bears close watching.....just in case.
Sounds like a “Well Regulated Malitia.”
He talks like a brave man, but he wasn’t actually there when it went down. Maybe on purpose? He likes to talk about how they shot Vicky Weaver in the head while holding a baby, pretty hard to believe he could think that couldn’t happen again.
It's not the process of the people voting that upsets Harry Reid and his ilk. It's limitations on gov't power that upsets him. He can live with the people voting, as long as it's for masters rather than public servants. We need to restore limited gov't that cannot infringe our rights.
Classical Athens had a pure democracy for the citizens, but it had absolute power. No rights were safe from the vote of the assembly.
Individual rights, safe from gov't infringement, is the crucial element which our ancestors added to the idea of gov't by the people.
