You are rooting for Al-Qaeda?
No, he is saying that who knows what or who was hit. Seems that we really have no idea what our drones are taking out these days. Just how do we really know anyway? Just who is telling us about who and why with the media now and even then could you trust them to tell the truth much less the truth from this administration.
Just another mystery to be solved by anyone in the media with the guts to actually investigate!
There doesn’t seem to be any big doubt that we took out about 13 or so Al Qaeda.
Al Jazeera:
“An air strike has killed 13 suspected al-Qaeda fighters in the central Yemeni province of al-Bayda, security and tribal sources said.
Tribal sources said a drone had been circling the region for days. They said the drone struck two cars early on Saturday that the suspected fighters were in, and added that three civilians in a nearby car were also killed, the Reuters news agency reported.
Yemen’s defence ministry website quoted a security source as saying a number of “terrorists” had been killed in the air strike.
“An air strike targeted cars that suspected al Qaeda militants were in and killed 13 of them in the Sawma’a are of al-Bayda,” a security source told Reuters.”
Sorry, but I suspect all news these days especially when any American reporter is involved. Of course Al Jazeera might be more reliable but - what does that tell you?
It doesn’t tell me anything.
I don’t have a problem figuring out the news, right now I am taking a leap on a story that I only learned about on this thread, but it would be shocking to learn that it isn’t fairly accurate for an airstrike in distant Yemen, against terrorists.
True...but we just might see a headline later about a wedding group bombed by America..that seems to be the norm these days.
Actually, probably true about Al Qaeda but these days, who knows what really is happening. I have about as much trust in what the media is reporting as I do in their weather projections.
Yeah, sure.
Well, sounds like you are a US Media believer.., Okay, good luck then... Be careful though, you might have the world open up on you unexpectedly...
I’m not a “US Media believer”, between all the sources available, and using common sense, you should be able to figure out the news.
On this story for instance, it is early and we don’t know the details, but there is no reason to jump to the conclusions that you did.
I almost always get the story right, you are the one who indicates that you rarely know what the truth is in news stories.
Jumping to conclusions is a two way street ya know...
Only time will tell if this is an accurate story or not.
I have no stake in either but I trust no media these days!
See post 5, this story will probably turn out to be what it appears to be.
Yes, we shall see, depending upon who investigates this...
Oh, and I admire your acceptance of Al Jeerza as an authoritative source...heh. Actually, might be more accurate than our US reporters...what does that say?
See post 9.
If you were truly interested in knowing the news, then you would find ways to learn what the news is.
Okay, I give... You’re going to believe whatever you want.
The news is just that, news that some folks believe. If you want to believe that, that is okay,
don’t put down others that have learned otherwise...
What do you mean “believe whatever you want” that is your thing, not mine.
I am almost never wrong about what the actual news was.
Oh come one, you are just being obstinate! I am saying that the news that you get is not always accurate! You know that and I’m sure that you take that into consideration.
If you take everything you read as fact then you do have a problem but I do not think that you are saying that...so quit arguing non issues and let it go.
We both know that much of the news is wrong, slanted, or in some cases falsified so we can’t take it for fact. I know you know that and you know that so lets quit squabbling and let it go.. We will eventually find out if the facts are correct but not in the heat of the reporting period and for sure not if it is politically important.
So, as usual, I take a wait and see approach which usually requires some adjustment by folks such as you that try to take a hard stance on the reported facts. Things change and they almost always will...so just calm down and let the changes happen, which they will...
I’m not taking a hard stance, I have good instincts, a wide range of knowledge, good common sense, a huge amount of history, and I (really, really, really) rarely get led down the wrong path on news stories.
Media bias and lies has been one of my biggest issues for more than 40 years, to the point that in the last decade I have largely lost interest in bringing it up or studying it.
This story came out of nowhere, but I will be very surprised if it proves to be other than what it basically is.
