Two groups have been most actively supporting “there is no such thing as an ex-Chekist,” Vladimir Putin’s naked aggression in the Ukraine.
They are Western communists, who hate the West and still see Russia as a force for socialism and anti-Americanism, and some naive Western “conservatives” like commentator Pat Buchanan and actor Steven Segal, who seem to believe that Comrade Putin is a closet Christian bent on defending Western values and saving Europe from the Islamic hordes. These naifs seem to have no idea that Mr. Putin’s KGB/FSB comrades have long manipulated those Islamic hordes against the West and have attacked our values at every opportunity for more than 90 years.
The communists must be laughing up their sleeves as they dupe self deluding “conservatives” like Buchanan and Segal into cheerleading their own destruction.

Interviewed on Kremlin propaganda channel RT (formerly Russia Today), Comrade Becker does a splendid job of obscuring the truth and spreading lies and disinformation on Moscow’s behalf.

China is nominally Communist but in practice operates like a capitalist country.
The Communist Party now happily accepts the accession of the growing rich in its ranks.
The sexual revolution, liberation theology, and many other heinous things, were born in some office in Moscow and exported through their leftist front groups.
It is truly odd, to me, that people want to get Americans killed when neither putin or obama can be trusted. Reminds me of kgb agents wanting to make certain Americans die and turn something which is not our problem into our problem to make certain Americans die. Prayers we sit this one out but if you would like to go fight please do. It seems to be what many of here want to do is fight for Ukraine or fight against Russia. I wonder if many of these folks are agitators looking to see first how much information they may gleam and second agitators to see how many people they can cause to die. If one wants to fight ... Go to Ukraine and leave America alone. Call us as soon as you folks wanting to fight arrive in Ukraine, please. We like to gleam information too.

China’s strategy is no different than Lenin’s strategy when he launched the NEP. He aimed to buy the rope from the west which he would “hang” us with. With Western support, believing that Russia was liberalizing, Russia was industrialized. This is China’s purpose as well, but not just to modernize, but to wage economic war on us as well when the time comes.
Marxism Leninism always saw the New Left as a bourgeois fad. Its causes never quite caught fire with the Old Left.
That reminds me, in the next couple of years, if the West stands up to Russia, then we can count on the American left creating another pacifist/anti-war movement.
This is like saying during the cold war, to a patriotic American, “You want us to go to war with Russia and die.” What I want is a cold war with Russia, which they are already fighting with us, and we ought to be preparing militarily in the same way they are. Muscovites have nuclear bomb shelters and civil defense training. We have pot smoking degenerates in colleges who will die of starvation if someone stops paying their rent.
The exact same sort of game the democrat fascists play when they say wanting to repeal Obamacare is the same thing as declaring war on women.
You want "odd"? Odd is how people who use the identical vocabulary and tactics of the democrat crowd pretend they're doing something other than spreading the democrat party line.
Also odd is how whenever the democrat crowd is all in favor of going to war somewhere, without fail there are people on FR calling anyone who doesn't agree with the democrat war effort "shills" for whoever it is the democrats want to attack that week.

China wants to be a rich, prosperous and powerful country. This contradicts the Maoist tents of an equal, poor and blank country.
But Maoism is nonsense and his heirs understand that China could not be all things to all people. As an emerging middle class country, its still governed by authoritarian politics.
But the improvement in the every day lives of the people has been tremendous. They call the new system, “socialism with Chinese characteristics.”

Huh? How does mentioning Philbrick make you think I want to become a counterspy? That said, the FBI would probably shoot me in the back of the head. Back in those days, the federal government was more trustworthy. He got involved when his student group was slyly taken over by strangers and re-utilized to oppose American involvement in WW2 (though they switched to being pro-war when the Nazis turned on Russia). He became involved as a counterspy when he went to the FBI to report that his organization had been coopted by possible communists. They encouraged him to stick it out and bring them information, which he did, for many years, going quite high into the communist party. His testimony was later used to convict 11 or so high ranking members of the communist party who served the Kremlin.
Yep, which Jim Jones touted. And the media constantly called it a ‘cult’. Jim Jones was a sraight-up Communist. Period!

Bullcrap. An average chinaman views a Russian as a gun-toting land-grabbing racist brute. They are dreaming to grow powerful enough and go teach Russia a lesson. And Russians are fully aware of Chinese perception.
Communism is always communism, and so one must be aware of communist disinformation as practiced by Lenin and the KGB, and later in China, to understand their motivations. They are committed to the destruction of “liberal democracy,” and, because we are weak, they may just succeed, leaving lots of dead American patriots.
We won’t. We are decadent, degenerate, soft and effete. America is not a role model. It leads as President Obama famously opined, “from behind.”
If I was a Russian, I would say, do I want to emulate you? Of course not! The two countries are admittedly on opposite sides again but this time it is America that is in decline.
