There is Medicaid insurance for orthodontists? Last I knew this was a non-insurance item, like plastic surgery.

In WA state there is. Don’t know how long that will last, with 70,000 new enrollees eligible under old Medicaid criteria which the state is liable for.

Texas has made a whole bunch of dentists very wealthy by paying for dental work through Medicaid. Children who have parents who are employed and, therefore, not eligible have dental work on “as the budget allows” basis.
