BEHIND ENEMY LINES: Hi-Res Images of BLM War Zone Exposes Fed’s Military Fiasco at Bundy Ranch

New images of cattle rancher Cliven Bundy’s tense standoff with the Federal Bureau of Land Mangement (BLM) on Saturday afternoon reveal how the armed agency’s military operation configured to forcefully engage Bundy cowboys and their supporters who sought to liberate federally confiscated cattle over the weekend.

These exclusive images were taken by a GMN photographer positioned right above the action on the Southbound side of Interstate 15 near Bunkerville, Nevada.

Despite the BLM being instructed to leave the Bundy Ranch and Gold Butte area earlier that morning, the agency still insisted had a legal right to be there and that it would not let go of hundreds of cows it had already taken away from the Bundy Family. Critics are asking if that ‘legal right’ also includes stationing a federal military force in Bunkerville.

Prior to this standoff, the special agent in charge of BLM’s ground operations, Daniel P. Love, had issued a warning that any one who crosses the federal line in order to free the seized cattle – will be arrested. Love went on boasting his agency’s advantage over Bundy supporters when saying, “I’ve seen your numbers right now, you’d better hope that 10,000 show up.”

It turns out that protesters needed far less numbers to overcome Love’s federal army. In the end, a Bundy’s contingent of 150 cowboys on horseback and a few hundred of peaceful supporters – backed by a well-organised volunteer militia, all together, proceed to march past the BLM’s line of demarcation to the entrance of cattle holding area, prompting the platoon of armed federal tactical teams to stand down and fall back.

How do you know that those weren't Russian uniforms?

Most seemed to be anonymous.

That's another thing that bothers me. Those green uniforms are all but unmarked.

The word "Police" is written in small letters across the front, but several of them are wearing gear that hides the word. There appear to be some markings on their shoulders, but it isn't clear what they are. A few of them are wearing badges, but not that many.

So a heavily armed and uniformed force with virtually no identification. There is nothing police about that, that is pure military.

OH, this is nice... Rory Reid blasting the BLM... and not for what you think:

...I think that the BLM lost. The BLM shouldn't have started this if they couldn't develop a plan to finish it successfully. Now I can understand why they suspended the operation. No trespass cow is worth somebody getting hurt. But the First Amendment zones they created were ridiculous. Then tried to block off too large a piece of land.... I don't think there is any way to look at this and say they were a winner here. They were a loser.

My point is that they could be anybody.

That's not a police force adopting military gear and tactics for effectiveness, it's a military force being used against our own citizens.

We're beyond misuse of the police power of the executive department and into the government as a separate body using its own military against US citizens.

I think when that agent said “If you interfere, you will be arrested” he was assuming that all those people would simply allow that. I don’t think they would have. With the number of citizens that showed up there with arms, they could have easily handcuffed all those paid assassins with their own cuffs.

My experience has been that, while that has long been the case, recently it has begun to change. These federal agencies have all the cool toys and outfits, and now they are beginning to bring in professionals that are trained and experienced to use them.

Just like the average agent wants all his buddies to look over at all his cool gear and be envious, director-guy sitting back in the air conditioned office behind his desk wants everyone to know that his force is the best and the baddest, so he can brag about the military vets and Blackwater bad-asses like "Operator J" running the show.
