I’ve stopped donating to the Republicans. Maybe I should start sending back the donation envelopes with a letter inside, stating that I will only support a party with principles. Politicians may think this is nothing more than a game of football, where the only difference between the teams is the color of the uniforms, but that isn’t what voters are looking for.
I would actually like to keep my freedom. I would actually like for the mores that have developed over thousands of years to be preserved—there are strong reasons for them to exist.
Also, I would like to see politicians represent the voters, not themselves.

That's where I am right now.
It's tempting not to feed the GOPe beast, but the simple fact is that they only listen to donors. If we all became donors, even small ones, we might be able to push the party in the right direction from time to time. Standing outside, why do we think they will listen to is?
