Both Washington and Kiev can’t stand up to Russia.
This is not the Cuban Missile Crisis where the Soviets had to back down. The Soviets understood Cuba was in America’s backyard.
Ukraine IS in Russia’s backyard and whatever the Americans can muster up in the way of protest will have no effect on what Moscow chooses to do next.
That should be obvious to any one who knows how events play out in that part of the world.
I forgot, but I think one of you gentlemen when supporting Russian invasion of Crimea, said that invasion of East/South Ukraine by Russia would be unjustified.
