IMO, this has nothing to do with what’s best for the land, or even what is the right thing to do here philosophically. It’s about enriching a few powerful individuals and fulfilling under the table agreements with the Chinese and a few large corporations.
It takes 320 acres to raise one cow for one year in dry country range, or 2 cows per square mile, if the drought is not to prolonged.
Ranchers know that a healthy range will be good for their Cattle and their Ranch for years to come, and manage their grazing range very conservatively.
