President Double-Down never surrenders to Americans. He always escalates to the point where he thinks others will not dare to go. Double-Down plays on the morality of others who know where the line in the sand is that they dare not cross, and then DD leaps far beyond it and dares others to follow.
That's the "I won" mentality.

I read somewhere that he plays chess like a pigeon. That is, he struts around knocking over all the pieces, $hits on the board, and declares himself the winner.
