But part of the problem is the lack of social disapprobation of perps in general. There was a time when even being a friend or relative of a disgraced government apparatchik would lead to the the loss of friendships and opportunity. Now evil-doers and their posse become celebrities making money from appearance fees.
The death penalty for government corruption is long overdue.
