Wow. My mom wears their stuff.
The recovery continues. < /sarc>
I used to order from their catalogs, and I think that I returned everything I ever ordered, except jewelry. The fit was never right, even though the clothes were cute.
Ditto!
I thought that they were in trouble when they closed their Seattle store. I cannot believe that Loehman’s filed for bankruptcy, though. I used to shp there in Lansdale, Pa back in the early seventies, before they went national.
All their former customers are now shopping at consignment shops I know I do do you suppose Chico’s and J Jill ate their lunch?
One of my favorite pairs of jeans ever came from Coldwater Creek.
I knew they were in trouble because I am on their e-mail list and every day there is some sort of big special sale going on. They can’t get enough people to get in there and buy, I guess.
It’s a shame, but I don’t have any buying power to change it, and neither does anybody else I know. We are all squeezed.
I do not ever order clothes on-line or by mail, for that reason. It’s hard enough to find a good fit even when you can try on the clothes.
I like their clothes, and since I’m a grandmother, maybe they are geared to older women.
We have a store near us—I’ll check to see if they have a closing sale.
I’ll miss them.
You know? One day some entrepreneur is gonna figure out how to combine the experience of Mall Shopping for ladies with the cost efficiency and speed of on-line buying.
A Big Box Emporium that co-locates “see-touch-feel-wear” convenience of various clothing from a variety of on-line sources, coupled with the ability to transmit all the needed information to a home email address so they can order online at home..
Less competition for Chico’s.
I loved their stuff when I was still working. Very comfortable yet still stylish. But I haven’t been a customer since I had kids & stay at home and don’t need work clothes anymore.
I’m not one who follows women’s fashions, but my wife bought a lot of their stuff. I really liked their stuff, as in, I would actually notice which store she bought the outfit from.
More folks freed from evil ‘job lock’
If women are not going for that style/fashion, we're screwed.
It’s amazing how many corporations have come and gone even since I reached adulthood. Libs talk about them like they are all-powerful, invincible, immune from decline.

Even Victoria’s Secret is cutting back:

I have never understood retailers like Chicos that have their own brand and store. To me they are always expensive. I can hit the sales racks at Stores like Nordstroms Rack and get alot more choices of brands at less cost.
Have never heard of Coldwater Creek. We’re they like Chicos?
