Annular eclipses are quite rare, and this one occurs after the first blood moon on April 15. And as for the date, there is definitely something important about it - after all, it wouldn't have been chosen by William and Kate for their royal wedding if it didn't signify something. Which, of course, makes its general non-mention in this blood moon/solar eclipse series of events particularly interesting. For it has literally become "the eclipse that is not named."
Now why is that?
