Yes, I love pitchers’ duels. There is always three minutes of excitement, at a minimum, punctuated by nearly three hours of sheer boredom. I enjoy making waves though and watching the outs being made too. Those line drives in the stands can make the heart rush with adrenalin which makes for an excitement level for old people like me seem almost like sex.

I didn’t say it was my favorite, but it is worth mentioning that it came to be 100 years before television. I never watch the game on television, but I always enjoy it in person. There is sunshine (ideally), beer, pretty girls, food that is bad for me, beer, just enough action to keep me paying attention, beer, pretty girls, ice cream, beer ... Baseball is best in person, or as highlights. On television it is intolerable. I’m going to a game on Monday. It will be better than any movie currently in the theaters.
