I heard about Waco on a vehicle radio, so I stopped off at a Sears Store and went to the TV section.

A wall of flames was actually seared into my memory.

What I remember most is the footage on the telly where four JBTs were up on the second story of one of the buildings on both sides of a window on there and on a given signal they all smashed out the window and then three of them went in, then after about three beats the fourth guy took a half step back and then placed himself directly in front of the window remains and fired a long burst from his weapon into the room while sweeping his fire side to side.

Found out later those three guys that were inside were all former members of BJ Clintoon's security force from his arkansas days. All were killed.

The guy who did it, AFAIK was never identified, and certainly never charged or even looked at afterwards.

I was 17 when Waco went down and I remember thinking even then why did Americans put up with that?
