The government does lots of stuff it shouldn’t IMO be doing. That doesn’t mean I can stop paying what by law I owe and then be shocked if they enforce the laws I don’t like. I certainly can’t justify calling out a ‘militia’ to face off against them.

Yes you can. You can choose to obey or disobey laws, whether just or unjust. You are not exempt from circumstances, of course, but if the laws be just and you call out the 'militia', then I'd be surprised if they would respond. However, if the law be unjust, it is the DUTY of Americans, whether they believe themselves to be 'militia' or not, to defend the God-given, natural rights of fellow Americans being wrongly persecuted by an unjust government.
