Ansel, you are painting with way too broad of a brush. Learn some reality and maybe you can paint between the lines a little more accurately:

Many Libertarians - and Rand Paul are very conservative on SOME issues, even more than mainstream conservatives…and they are very liberal on SOME issues. Some of the Paul contingent was part of the TP movement from the start, and some were not. TRUE, they were not the force in the TP that the liberal media likes to claim, or that the hard core Paul bots claim, but they were indeed part of it.

This was the anti fed anti Bush faction and anti spending faction and anti debt faction within the libertarian movement. Not the pro druggie or pro abort or pro gay parts. They are all part of the libertarian movement.

That’s all we are saying.

I think it’s absurd to think there’s a coordinated GOPe plus the Paul bot Libertarians effort to derail the TP. The GOPe hates elements of the Paul camp more than anyone. Now, they may end up agreeing on some issues…but these are NOT coordinated camps.

And yes, I’m a big Cruz guy. Have been from the start. My politics would be squarely from the Palin Cruz Limbaugh Levin wing of the conservative movement - a Reagan movement conservative. As such, I ardently agree, and ardently disagree, with libertarians on various issues. But I’m also a student of history and of the Tea Party and Palin for sure, and have written widely on both subjects.

Who said that the GOPe and libertarians are conspiring to derail the TP, you are the only absurd person I have heard saying that.

You also attempt to paint libertarians falsely, as mere conservatives, rather than a movement and self identification of people to the left of conservatives by being liberal on social issues, and national defense, in other words, “libertarians”.

I didn’t ask you if you supported Cruz, I asked Sontagged, and thanks for your constant posting about your books that you hawk here.

You paint Christians and social conservatives with a broad brush, a negative one, while attempting to convince conservatives that libertarians are not really libertarians, they are actually conservatives who just like the name “libertarian”, and want to be known as being “libertarian”, for some reason.

“”Many Libertarians - and Rand Paul are very conservative on SOME issues, even more than mainstream conservatives…and they are very liberal on SOME issues.””

That’s right, that is why conservatives post things like this about Rand Paul.
