Ugh, another Jap plant. Pretty flowers when they bloom all the way. My concern is the moron that planted it planted it one foot from the house. Looks like it’s going to get bigger, will the roots hurt the foundation?

It was probably a small 2-3gal shrubs when they planted it, but it should be 3-5ft from foundation. Probably won’t hurt foundation, unless there are cracks where the roots can get in, but otherwise, no harm.

Best to remove it after it blooms and dig-out stump, backfill with topsoil, let settle and plant something farther away from foundation. Is is south/west/east-facing?
