Are Goodwill, Salvation Army and St Vincent De Paul far behind?
Nice job, Obama.
And I think Dollar General is over building too............
This is simply oversaturation of the market. There are about three various Dollar stores within a square mile of each other.
Maybe they can lower their prices, and rename it “42 Cents Store”?
I just designed a parking lot for one...its being built right now.
Wonder if it will close.
I actually find them to be quite expensive.
You know the economy is bad when dollar stores don’t have the business! (Or else really good, I guess, but we know that isn’t the case here)
I hope mine doesn’t close, they have some very cute things in there. I’d be suprised if they did, they are in a good location, nothing else like that for quite a distance.
And the Sisters of the Poor will be too broke from ObamaCare to help .
Family Dollar is a failure because of a stupid name. “Honey pull over, I want to go to the dollar store...hey, this is $2, this is $5, this is $7. WTF?”. Dollar Tree IS a dollar store.
Trying to figure this one out. I love my Family Dollar store. I have been buying tea bags from them forever - tagless, 100 to a box - used to be a dollar but finally worked their way up to 1.35. Still good for what you’re getting. A couple weeks ago I went in to get my tea bags, and couldn’t find anything, anywhere. They were in the midst of a massive rearrangement. As I was getting ready to check out, I finally found my tea bags - on a sale rack right by the checkout. And the clerk told me they were 88 cents. 88 cents??? “Oh, yeah, we’re not carrying them anymore.” I made some kind of joke about buying them all, but it wasn’t really a joke. Two days later I went back and bought nine boxes of them for 88 cents apiece. The clerk was funny - she said “You weren’t kidding?” Well, no!!
Part of what I saw in this rearrangement, was they got rid of this one (might have called it Family Pantry, don’t know, but it was a store brand - and good, too.) There was a second one I never bought, but it was there, too. And they had replaced all these brands with only Lipton. This seems to be the opposite of what these stories are saying. Why would they replace their own brand, inexpensive (but very good) brand with only national brands? Sure there’s an answer, but right now it doesn’t seem obvious.
BUT I DO HAVE NINE BOXES OF MY FAVORITE TEA BAGS.
