What the kenyan won’t say is that POS LBJ would not have passed the Civil Rights Act at all if he only had his democrats to depend on. There weren’t enough democrats in either the house or senate to pass the bill. He had to go to the republicans, the party that freed the slaves from democrats, fought the KKK politically and physically, and the party that helped promote and marched with the likes of MLK for civil rights. The democrat party did nothing to promote or win civil rights for blacks and in fact fought it every step of the way. LBJ only pushed it because he knew he could win back the servitude of blacks by making it seem that he and his party were responsible for the civil rights act.
His statement was right and quickly came to pass because his target audience was so ignorant and remains so today.
