When I was a kid, I harvested radishes and green oninons by hand in Auburn Washington. The people there were young people like me and a few of their single moms. When I turned 16 I drove the goods on a flatbed truck to places like the Safeway distribution center.

Every single person was white. No blacks (none in that area at that time), no hispanics, but quite a few Asians, believe it or not.

Now, most of those farms are gone. Replaced by warehouses and business centers.

A side note: Every single one of my Asian friends there were Japanese and all of their fathers were named George. This was around 1970.

That was worded poorly and contradictory. I meant that they were mostly white. the rest were Asian. Also, my best friend there, second generation Japanese, ended up marrying one of the white girls there.

He eventually became a dentist.
