Doubtful. I’d imagine it would remain as conscious as a head that just got hit hard enough with a baseball bat to break the neck.

The head would remain “alive” but the trauma of decapitation would render the recipient unconscious immediately. The severing of nerves and the loss of blood pressure to the brain would be instant death.
