At the Saddleback Civil Forum, Barack Obama addressed his definition of marriage.
While he said he believes that marriage is a union between a man and a woman, he also said that he would not support a Constitutional definition of marriage as so.
His argument is that marriage has not been defined by the federal government, traditionally. He said that it is up to the states to decide

Lying scum.
Obama used the libertarian/rino arguments and method to avoid the issue.
Obama was against a constitutional amendment or DOMA, calling it a “state” issue, although amending the constitution is completely legitimate and constitutional.
Obama/libertarians/Rand Paul know that they/he are running for federal office, where he would make policy for gay marriage at the federal level, in the military, for federal employment, and in immigration, the resulting pressure and public opinion making it impossible for a few states trying to deny those marriages, and deny marriages from other states.
Libertarians and leftists know what they are doing, and they know the language to use, in the end, they get what they want in social liberalism, and have, for 50 years.
How come the gay mafia aren’t demanding Obama’s resignation - oh that’s right, they all know he had to lie about the issue back then so he could get elected. It would be funny actually if it weren’t so tragic for the country.
Saaddleback....providing political cover for proponents of Partial Birth Abortion since 1992
I agree with Libertarians on a lot of issues...the more the democrats try to control every facet of our lives, the more libertarians will vote for conservative Republicans...
We can agree to disagree on issues like gay marriage, when Obamacare affects millions of Americans in a bigger and personal way...
No, we can’t agree to merely disagree with your radical leftist support for homosexual marriage.
Conservatives will fight to the end, yours, and Obama’s, and Rand Paul’s agenda to continue the the left’s war against God and America.
Rand Paul
"Preaching to the choir is not working for the conservative movement. We are growing stale and moss-covered. We must evolve, adapt or die."
"I think that the Republican Party, in order to get bigger, will have to agree to disagree on social issues,"
Oh please, take a deep breath and calm down...
Where did I say I was for homosexual marriage? I’m not.
I am merely pointing out that libertarians are against gun control (good), against over regulation/mandates on business (good), against Obamacare (good), against campaign finance “reform” (good), against rule by public unions (good), against higher taxes (good), for private property rights (good), and for limited government (good).
They will vote for conservative Republicans...
So have a coke and a smile and chill out, brother!
No, we will fight them tooth and nail, libertarians want to defeat conservatism, you don't need to keep trying to sell their product and agenda.
I’m not selling anything to you, friend...
Merely stating that many libertarians will vote for conservative republicans, especially if the agreement on issues are emphasized...and there are many points of agreements between Republicans and Libertarians...free market, limited government, less federal control of your life...
RINOS...big spending Republicans...that is where we lose Libertarians...
Obama is a puppet.
Yes you are selling something, libertarianism, your focus on gay marriage is what drew the attention to you.
As a libertarian, you seem to be doing what you guys do, get on a thread to promote liberalism, and then pretend that you aren’t.
If individual libertarians decide that conservative economics trumps their libertarian liberalism and weak on defense desires, then they are welcome to vote conservative, but they aren’t welcome to oppose conservatism.
See post 7.
Obama is very libertarian on some issues.
Obama has been steered to pretend any old thing under the sun whether it was intended or not.
Besides you beg the question of to just where the “evolution” (cringeworthy term) will go. You keep assuming the conclusion of your argument. That is called the fallacy of petitio principii.
That is a libertarian trait.

I know you espouse that theory and therefore loudly accuse with lying tongue that I want “gay marriage.”
No I don’t want “gay marriage.” I’d really like to see a government so small that it couldn’t force “gay marriage” on anybody.
If you don’t support gay marriage, then reverse your position, support a conservative party platform, conservative candidates, and conservative politics, to protect marriage and reverse the federal legalization of gay marriage in the military, federal employment, and immigration.
Support politics and law that protects marriage at all levels of government, from city politics, to County, to state, to federal politics.
There is no amount of law that can make an unrighteous land righteous. If you want to shy from cutting down the size of government, then you will repent yourself and concentrate on evangelism and leave politics.
I guess that when you’re purpose driven to destroy a nation and it’s Christian faith, you would go to the church of the original purpose-driven leader, Doesn’t surprise me that Rick Purpose would have the Obandit come preach filth and trash at his church.
