At the Saddleback Civil Forum, Barack Obama addressed his definition of marriage.
While he said he believes that marriage is a union between a man and a woman, he also said that he would not support a Constitutional definition of marriage as so.
His argument is that marriage has not been defined by the federal government, traditionally. He said that it is up to the states to decide

Christians oppose gay marriage and abortion, and fight them politically by promoting and fighting for their conservative politics, to change the laws that you desire and currently have.
You mock them, and fight them politically.
I mock the superficial so called Christians who have a form of religion but deny its power. You are to every evidence I have seen a foremost example of that. You had ten years to show that you cared about Christ from the heart. You failed. I don’t know how much longer the Lord will give you but you could die in your next breath and go to hell because you never let the Lord take away your original sin.
This is doing God’s work, and using our vote to save lives.
“”On January 22, thousands gathered on the National Mall in Washington for the annual March for Life that takes place on the date that Roe v. Wade was decided by the Supreme Court.
The same week, the Republican National Committee decided that it was time for the national party to wade back into the pro-life waters after a perceived hiatus from using it as a platform issue. A Resolution on Republican Pro-Life Strategy formally re-established abortion as a 2014 election issue for the party and seeks to push back on the war on women rhetoric that Democrats have made synonymous with the pro-life movement.
The RNC clearly believes once again that a prominent pro-life position plays well with voters. Perhaps the national party has taken note of whats happening at the state level. Twenty-four states enacted 53 anti-abortion measures in 2013 alone.
Research from the pro-choice Guttmacher Institute shows that in the last three years, states have enacted an unprecedented 205 different abortion restrictions. This was made possible by the fact that over half of the states in the union have pro-life governors and pro-life majorities in their legislatures.””
That’s a very nice claim; how do you relate it to Christ? Are those people whose lives you say you saved to grow up in a world where Ansel12 tells them what to do, or one where the Lord shows them?
Remember in the sheep and goats, ANY thing the goat failed to do was held against him. It didn’t matter what else he had done. (Anything the sheep did was counted for him. It didn’t matter how else he had failed.)
It is a story of the consequences of salvation FROM THE HEART. Or rejection of it. Do you have that salvation, friend? Will you be a sheep? Or a goat?
Jim do you consider that list of political gains by the pro-life movement listed in post 43, as supportive of Christian faith, or as a rejection of it, and the activity of anti-Christians?
Jim, do you know the dangers of the superficial?
Jim, do you know that the nation is going to hell because it has rejected Christ from the heart? And no amount of law or politics will be anything more than “healing the wound of my people lightly” without that heart relationship being restored?
What is superficial, is your using God to justify your never ending war against conservatives fighting to roll back or replace the abortion and gay marriage laws, that you are fighting to maintain.
Jim, do you know the Lord is holding us even more accountable for souls than for earthly lives? MORE?
I am fighting against vain masks. Once we acknowledge before the Lord that yes, we are ugly, then we are in a position to accept and absorb His beauty.
You seem to think that superficial activity makes you beautiful. Not if it did not result from confessing your ugliness before the Lord and accepting His gift at the Cross... and EVERYBODY has ugliness. NOBODY is born without it. ORIGINAL SIN.
How is it that you think your fight to protect pro-abortion and gay marriage laws, is more Christian than fighting to change those laws?
What do you mean fighting to protect them? Once more you show Satan’s mouth of lying, which you got at your original sin, when you use that term to describe my effort to UNDERMINE them. To UNDERMINE evil.
The very fact that you insist on seeing this at the fleshly level is very suggestive that you are lacking something at the heart, friend. Law can, at best, only mop up. Grace undermines evil and builds virtue.
Your political effort here is devoted to stopping Christians from advancing conservative or-life, pro-marriage politics and law.
Your fight is against conservative, pro-life, pro-marriage politics in behalf of libertariansim
You mock them as conservative Christians as “statists” and social conservatives.
That is why you mock the pro-life movement and the political and legal gains listed in post 43 and ending gay marriage at the federal level government for federal employees.
Also note that you suddenly narrowed your laundry list. OF COURSE let’s see if it is possible to repeal such junk. NO we don’t need to weave bans into the entire fabric of law to do it. But, YES the heart has to be there for the Lord. It is not the Lord’s work if it is only for show. And a sign that it is for show is such accusatory conduct as yours.
Note that your laundry list has broadened again. No, you cannot get away with that, Satan. Shifting shadows.
This is a political site, and you are one of the most aggressively political people here.
Something is not adding up in your phony "God" act, as you discourage Christians from participating in politics, while advancing your anti-god libertarianism.
Basically because I won’t endorse a lot of superficial and overweening superfluities, you accuse me of not hoping to repeal true monstrosities in God’s sight.
No, your flesh is NOT congruent with the will of God.
