Saying illegal immigration would be an “act of love” is sophistry in the extreme. Whether it is defined as a felony or not, the practice certainly flies in the face of any orderly and lawful administration of the admission of foreign nationals to the United States.

Smuggling goods into another country, in contravention of agreed trade agreements, is clearly illegal and held to be so by every organized government in the world. If the “goods” smuggled in are the labor services of the illegal immigrant, it is in no way different from the smuggling in of firearms or perfumes.

Perhaps more immigrants should be admitted than are now allowed into the territory once known as “the United States of America”. But it should be known WHO they are, and exactly why they are here. In any instance, they are admitted only on the condition they obey the set of laws that apply in THIS country, they are not allowed to also import their own code of legal jurisprudence or customs that may prove to be totally illegal in this country.
