See the Fox News special, “Enemies of the State” for details of this horrible case of government bullying in Harry Reid’s state of Nevada. It is shameful that such a thing can happen in America. The Founders would be extremely ashamed of what this nation has become.

From the article, I did not get the impression that he was grazing on his own land. Rather, that he was grazing on federal land and not paying the fees.

“...bulling a man on his own property...”

He doesn’t own it. Public land. Not private.

You see, out west cattle ranching tends to rely on access to public lands in order to ensure adequate grazing. It would not be economically feasible for most ranchers to run cattle in a number of western states if they couldn’t graze on BLM land, and BLM land makes up a significant portion of the land in western states (more than half the land is owned by the government in some states).

What we’re seeing here is an intersection of private business interests and public property. I can see good arguments from both sides, the state has a vested interest in preventing over-use and destruction of public lands and the habitat therein, and likewise the public and private businesses have a right to utilize that land - and indeed their livelihood may depend on it.

Not his property, the way I read the article. He claims certain "rights" to the use of the property.

The situation sucks, but is not going to turn out well for him, I'm afraid.

I don’t know about Nevada but around here if the Feds want his cattle off that land they need to fence it off.

He is not the first rancher the BLM has done this to. Where is the ACLU when a real issue exists. Where is the supreme court ???
Oh wait they are deciing a gay issue... real important to butt stuffers .... but ranchers... pffft they actually produce something useful... What use is the land if not to graze cattle. $1 mil+ costs to round up 500 head? Lets say they shut down every rancher in the area then what ???? build more FEMA CAMPS.... ??????? one man vs an army.... RUBY RIDGE / WACO REDUX

The Feds need to be stripped of their Forest and Grassland acerage. 5% to the State per annum would bea good start.

Or they could sell it off to pay the National Debt.

Ping.

Not only is the rancher kept off these public lands, but everyone his. I and my crew HAD bird surveys in the Gold Butte area (including the Virgin River area all the way to Overton) but access has been denied by the Feds. This is a huge area of public lands: and NO ONE is allowed on it now!

The USSA is now a police state.

These people are incredibly brave. When you buck the US govt the response is swift and scary. I am very worried that those folks are going to get killed.

Saw they arrested his son yesterday, “He was there to do some filming when about 11 federal agents pulled up and arrested him,” Bundy told News 3. “They said he was outside of the First Amendment area and they took him down. We don't know where he is now.”

The BLM confirmed the arrest in an emailed statement...

BLM changed his lease by limiting the number of cattle he could run to 150 head, because of a desert tortoise.

The sad part of all this is they can protect the tortoise without stealing the man’s property. There is always some way to reach an amicable agreement.

But the government is run by a bunch of armed, jack-booted NAZI thugs. And the article said this went back 20 years. I think that makes Bush I, Clinton and Bush II culpable here in addition to the Obamabastard.
