I can see many Private Doctors getting desperate.
That may be the real ticking time bomb for the Democrats.
I see a lot of “your can keep your doctor” commercials in the future. It goes beyond website glitches and insurance issues.
Here’s where Obamacare will be unpopular. Its not a done deal.
Obamacare is like all socialized health care systems. Everyone has a little card saying he has insurance; he just can’t get treatment.
There are waiting lists, rationed health care and doctor shortages.
If you like those choices, you’ll love Obamacare.
“Democrats are desperate to find a success somewhere”
President Chucklehead’s chortling over a claimed success reminds me of the story of the man frantically tearing into the pile of horse**** (”There’s got be a pony in here somewhere ...”) and the scene in the movie ‘Downfall’ where Eva Braun is doing her flapper dance on a table during an Allied bombing run: “Everybody, ja—lighten up! Let’s party!”
The Department of Veteran’s Affairs sent me a letter informing me that I was covered under the Affordable Health Care/ObamaCare, e.g., that they had enrolled me. Social Security was kind enough to lock me into Medicare exactly two years after accepting their disability retirement. I am sure there are millions like myself who are ACA’d involuntarily. I kept my employer’s health insurance policy mostly for my family, still have Tricare, now Medicare and of the course the VA for 100% as well. All my insurance needs are first via Medicare, then my private insurance followed by Tricare. If Medicare does not pay, then none of the others will pay either.... Ouch.
Perhaps these dire predictions of physician accessibility are true in some areas, but my wife and I kept the exact providers we had previously, including specialists, and really nothing is any different in any of the appointments. If we subsequently choose to leave these doctors all providers (hundreds) at all hospital-affiliated clinics are available, plus those independent ones who choose to participate (some but certainly not all).
I can speak for the Phoenix area a little bit on this. I know a guy & wife in their early 30s that just got on it. Bronze plan, 125/mo for both. IDK the deductible or the co-pays.
Both take meds and have conditions that require some treatment regularly. Last week, they had a hard time finding doctors who would see them. When they got Rxs from a DR. that would see them they found out the insurance didn’t like the type of medicine and they had to go back several times and keep trying to find one the insurance company would pay for. The Ins. companies and DRs are telling them they don’t know what to submit or if they do submit bills for payment they don’t know if they will get paid. It has been a confusing, frustrating and stressful situation for them and it is not resolved yet.
That will be a problem since CA is the State which is most gung ho for Obamacare and has signed up the most.
This means MANY who were thrown in the system will lose their doctors. Oh my.
FUHRER: I’ve read the reports of Obamacare signups. I see we’re making progress and the website problems are being addressed. Is victory in sight?
GENERAL: My Fuhrer... its not so simple. As you can see, ensuring timely health care access and getting patients to see the doctors they want is still not assured. Our planning is incomplete to ensure success in these areas. Fuhrer... we also face a massive Republican counterattack. We can’t guarantee our reserves will be sufficient to repel it.
FUHRER: I am surrounded with incompetent fools! Fegelein made a fool out of me by prompting me to declare a premature victory. Gentlemen - one more victory like this and my legacy is lost forever! The Republicans keep running rings around me and I don’t even have proof to show them my health care plan works! I can never trust Prussian generals in monocles to plan a war! When you generals were panicking, it was only due to my iron will the health care fort remained intact. I’d hate to have negotiate a surrender to the Republicans if they win this fall! I expect you gentlemen, to rescue the situation as time is running short - and make sure when you do to bring Fegelein to me. He’s caused me great political pain. Look at whom I have to live with and none of this news makes me want to recall the greatest days of my political career. This should rightly be the feather in my cap. (sigh)
Bump
Don’t forget to bring your own tote bag to the store or you will be charged 10 cents for each one. Liberals get involved and something as easy as going to a store or a doctor is made difficult.
bkmk
Are you saying you ACTUALLY signed up for Obamacare?!
I don't know if "unpopular" covers it. I think we're talkin' Venezuela here. We'll see.
We were signed up by the previous insurance plan (same company).
Office visits are a fixed copay and no deductible for generic Rx so we have seen very little change so far.
Haven’t even had to pay a premium yet as we had a credit balance beforehand.
I have the same plan.
Never have to pay a premium. I get generic drugs filled at Walmart Pharmacy.
In living with heart disease and high blood pressure, it helps.
No increase in deductible or premium?
