“Even if you don’t “feel the necessity”, leave those who do “feel the necessity” alone, please? Thanks.”

Please do not put words in my mouth. I have NO objection to you, or any lawful citizen, arming yourself to the max.
It is, however, sad that America is coming to this.
Never in my 69 years did I know anyone that felt the need to be armed.

"Never in my 69 years did I know anyone that felt the need to be armed".

I guess you never made it to Vietnam...but anyway...what do you mean that "America is coming to this"? The American Revolution was sparked when the British tried to seize privately owned arms. A simple understanding of history demonstrates that there are have been very few times, in very few civilizations, when a people didn't need the means of self defense, and they always have led to times and civilizations when they did need those very same means.

All intelligent and responsible people need to be armed and trained in their use for such a time as when they need them. This isn't a sad situation worthy of some sort of misplaced melancholy, it's just reality as shown by history.
