The U.S. Food and Drug Administration is "pushing very hard" to release a proposed rule that would establish its authority over e-cigarettes, the head of the agency said on Thursday amid concerns the products pose a risk to children.
FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg told senators at a Congressional budget hearing that it has taken too long to move the rule forward and that she expects the proposal to be ready for release "very soon."

Nanny State PING!
I still haven’t gotten over the candy cigarette ban.
It’s “for the children”, don’t cha know!
Funny how they never made candy cigars on the same scale, though.
In a Marxist State, the government seizes control of everything; at this point, why does anyone pretend we’re still a free people?
I’m all for taking away the FDA’s authority to regulate anything at all-let adults be responsible for themselves and their kids and save us a truckload of taxpayers’ dollars$$$ in the process-I’ll be most pleased to vote for whoever will fire all the expensive nannies who serve no purpose...
Excellent quote!
Too many taxes
Too many laws.
Shows you that it’s not about second hand smoke it’s about CONTROL!
If they banned all guns in the US and companies replaced guns with water guns they would be passing legislation to ban water guns
Actually, they made a fair number and still do. Check it out

I remember when my wife and I were expecting our son, we gave out a bunch of ‘It’s a Boy! candy cigars.
But rowing up, there were a lot more candy cigarettes.
When E-cigarettes are outlawed only outlaws will have E-Cigarettes. And I’m one. Come and get me copper.
It's nice to be able to just claim authority over stuff.
Oh goodie, now we have to contend with the e-Cig Mafia too? Please make it stop!!
My guess is that they will require child proof containers for the liquid nicotine to reduce the number of child poisonings.
And I wouldn't be surprised to see them require some testing and approval of the ingredients. Do you know what chemicals they are putting in your e-vapors? Do you even care? Do you like being a guinea pig? How long before someone puts some unique ingredient in a vapor that causes damage?
Do you know what chemicals they are putting in your e-vapors?
No.
Do you even care?
No.
Bureaucrats just salivating over something else to regulate.
It’s a drug delivery device. As a society we agree to regulate these things. And it will be.
