Conservative activist Ben Shapiro is leading up an online charge of fellow political compadres to boycott the browser Firefox — an outraged response to the Mozilla chief’s departure from his CEO role due to gay rights’ protests.
Former CEO Brendan Eich, who’s been with Mozilla since its creation and actually helped found the company’s charitable offshoot foundation in 1998, announced this week he’s stepping down from the role over a flap generated by a $1,000 donation he made to a California campaign that sought to ban same-sex marriage in the state.

They should have stuck with don”t ask don’t tell the military is now ruined should have never started this you lose half your business no matter witch side your on it is war now!!!!!!
+1
I’m done with it. No more. Opera is gone. Gonna try and use Safari, see how far it gets me. Hopefully Eich brings us a brand new browser soon and we can get rid of Firefox altogether.
I have v12.16/ Build 1860... how’d you get v20?
Right click about 1” down from top; look for “customize > appearance”, and set-up your top toolbar with check-box choices. (Main, Status, Address Tab Bars)
bookmark
When every browser installs, simply uncheck “set as default browser” box before final OK to finish. They all do that. Just watch for it uncheck it.
Should be a grey arrow drop-down next to Google logo in search box at top right. Also at bottom, a small wrench w/ Manage Search Engines, to let you add engines. Only ONE can be used at a time, but you can go in and re-select a different engine at any time, or set one as default.
OR, right-click on box, go to “customize > appearance > buttons > search” and set-up your search engine buttons.
Right-click on the header until you get “customize > appearance > toolbars > check main, status, address, tab and go thru the options for set-up to customize. Speed dial is great, but for later.
Shapiro’s getting in on this? Sweet!
I love this guy’s work.
Your former default browser almost certainly has an option to make itself the new default browser. Just look through its settings dialogs.
I’m reading 15-20 new negative comments there every three minutes.
Yeah. Mozilla just kicked the hornet’s nest with this decision.
Opera might be fine for a smartphone but it’s clunky and extremely limited on a laptop.
Won’t import bookmarks despite claims that it will, can’t really set a homepage, can’t get rid of ‘Discover’, and on and on.
And there’s no help available that corresponds to what I actually see on version 20.
I just downloaded it today from the Opera site and none of the features or menus you describe are present.
Same here, I still don’t see anything anyone is telling me is there.
FF users need only spoof the User-Agent header to masquerade as something else. There are extensions available that do that for all sites or only configured sites.
For instance, you could configure your Firefox spoofer to report itself as Chrome whenever talking to *.statcounter.com. That would affect charts like this one:
Bragging rights matter in the world of open source software.
Mine’s been fully-customized since 2009; I’m trying to help you from memory of what it looks like as a new app.
Try right-click 3/4-1” down from top, more or less, to get “customize > appearance”.
Let me try to d/load a new copy and I’ll be right back...
How does anybody know Opera isn’t a gaystapo sympathizer?
Google (Chrome) is. Apple (Safari) is. Microsoft (IE) is.
Just switched to palemoon.
And IE users because Microsoft execs were big supporters of the Wash St. gay marriage iniative.
And Safari because Apple is run by a gay guy
And Chrome because Eric Schmidt, Sergei Brin, and Larry Page are huge contributors to gay "causes"
Is someone going to issue a FR gayness scorecard...call it 50 Shades of Gay?
