Even if it’s so, but still - the Russian military’s involvement isn’t a proven fact, the Ukrainian military and government have showed up as totally dysfunctional, so their calling their opponents “pirates” in a try to explain their failure is rightfully causing laugh. As with any kind of failure.
“Even if its so, but still - the Russian militarys involvement isnt a proven fact[....]”
That is a totally false statement, and a very foolish one at that. Numerous videos demonstrate the troops who invaded the Crimea and mainland Ukraine were in fact Russian marines from the Russian Black Sea Fleet and soldiers from Russia. Some of the military vehicles still had their Moscow license plates showing.
“the Ukrainian military and government have showed up as totally dysfunctional, so their calling their opponents pirates in a try to explain their failure is rightfully causing laugh.”
That is just a lot of nonsensical and Russian self-serving propaganda. Russia committed acts of piracy, so the labeling of the piratical behaving Russian forces is fully justified. Recognizing an obvious fact has nothing to do with the Ukrainian failure to hold the Crimea. Pretty much everyone knew since 1991 that Russia could and would take the Crimea if and when Russia ever decided to do so, which is why an international agreement was negotiated to prevent that very event form occurring. Unfortunately, Putin’s Russian regime decided it could trash the international agreement and international law in the same way Hitler did with the German invasion and annexation of the Sudetenland. Hitler did the same with Poland using drugged concentration camp prisoners faked up in Polish uniforms to fake an attack upon the German radio station at Gleiwitz. Putin hoped to provoke a Ukrainian armed defense against his Russian troops pretending to be Crimean self-defense rebels, but the well disciplined Ukrainians followed orders and refused to take the bait Putin tried to use as an sham excuse.
