I woulda died to have the 409 back then! First big block ever, I think.
The 409 was a bigger version of the 348 that came out in 1958, My Dad had a 59 with that engine, nothing short of a Vette could beat it, and he was sorry after he sold it. Saw one on Barrett-Jackson a couple of months ago sell for over $100k.

Your right. Ours is a Station Wagon which is 400 HP stock. Pure Torque hooked up to a 4 on the floor. NEVER LOST A RACE. We got it in 1965, and I still have it.

Awesome, always wanted the 409 but since “Dad” never bought me anything sacking groceries and a paper route had to pay for all my toys in the 16,17, 18, 19 era.......
