You don't own any property here either. Just don't pay taxes and see who shows up to claim 'your' property.

Peope in Chichago will have their 'rent' (taxes) doubled to pay for the (exorbitant) wage and pension benefits of the DEMOCRAT union and public employees unions.

Not a lot of difference, eh?

Not really a valid point from a purely legal perspective. Real properties have deeds or other documents showing ownership interest. And property can be taken by other than government entities....for instance, if a property owner loses a civil action and the plaintiff is granted a judgment, he can execute on that judgment and seize real property (except for the homestead in most states).

I have been a proponent of the primary residence (homestead) being 100% exempt from taxes and eminent domain, thereby taking the government out of the picture in terms of seizures of the homestead.
