I’m speaking of human nature. It’s like saying all people are sexist, or all people are ageist. And it really is only a question of to what degree the person is.

It is how we are wired regarding survival instinct and fight or flight. We size up people we’ve never met based on their external attributes. This includes sex, race, age, clothing style, etc. If you size someone up in any way whatsoever based on what race they are, you are racist.

It is not a bad thing, just as sexism is, in and of itself, not a bad thing. It is the degree to which people can carry it that makes it a bad thing.
