Before the Obama administration gave an inaccurate narrative on national television that the Benghazi attacks grew from an anti-American protest, the CIAs station chief in Libya pointedly told his superiors in Washington that no such demonstration occurred, documents and interviews with current and former intelligence officials show.
The attack was not an escalation of protests, the station chief wrote to then-Deputy CIA Director Michael J. Morell in an email dated Sept. 15, 2012 a full day before the White House sent Susan E. Rice to several Sunday talk shows to disseminate talking points claiming that the Benghazi attack began as a protest over an anti-Islam video.
That the talking points used by Mrs. Rice, who was then U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, were written by a CIA that ignored the assessment by its own station chief inside Libya, has emerged as one of the major bones of contention in the more than two years of political fireworks and congressional investigations into the Benghazi attack.

As do I.
What difference does it make?
Hush up about this. Karl Rove and his groupies dont want any harsh criticism of this regime/s
Hillary prating that video story to the relatives of the dead in front of the caskets of the slain should be shown nightly on television
I will always believe Benghazi was an attempted abduction of Chris Stevens in order to make a trade.
The security was weakened on purpose by Ms Clinton prior to the incident.
When the attack happened, the WH thought it was just the kidnap plot playing out not realizing that the abductors had been replaced with terrorists. So, they let it happen because either way, the traitorous act of the regime would have been exposed.
This theory makes sense of the facts we know.
Hillary 2016. Are you ready?
I suspect there's more good people in the CIA than bad people - but the bad people are in charge - put there by Obama... and Clinton some years back... I pray the good people stay at their jobs and wait out this time...
Is anyone else having major problems of late viewing anything on washingtontimes.com?
Even in different browsers the website is completely unusable for me. It’s not my pc, as it’s on multiple platforms, too.
Just curious...seems to have gotten worse sometime in the past 6 months with multiple long-running scripts.
I haven’t tried ‘all’ my browsers, but it affects IE & Mozilla-written browsers both.
Thanks for getting back to me.
I reverted back to IE10 as well. I had forgotten about the zoom problem, so that was helpful. However, no difference.
I’m convinced it’s my video card/drivers (other minor symptoms as well).
Thanks! It’s helpful to narrow down problems.
I’m with you on that.
If they had given the ‘movie protest’ lie to our congresscritters behind closed doors they would have bought the lie.
Now they’re going to have to come up with new lies... but democrats are creative liars and the people won’t be able to debunk the new crap...
Wish it was like the old days when we had a free press...
Benghazi ping.
Let Republicanprofessor know if you want on or off this ping list.

It's 2:07; it's time to sell some Ghetto Heaven...
That phrase was actually uttered today, by Rupersberger. I kid you not.
