Back in the 60’s we in the south didn’t even know we were discriminating ,until the government told us.

I still recall a kid in my newly integrated class ranting about how he worked on the farm with me, how we played together, but he'd be damned if he was going to learn with me. I wasn't offended, really, after all I'm white.

We remained friends even through the race riots in High School.
